Communication: - In the past, people used to communication through letters, telephones etc. The advent of computers has made it possible to share or exchange information in real time (instant). Information can be textual, graphics or visual from any corner of the world in different ways. Like – Email, Online chatting, Video conferencing, FTP (File Transfer Protocol), Telnet, Social Networking.
News & Broadcasting: The delivery and reception of news has changed dramatically with the advent of computers. Earlier, Journalists used snail mail, reel-to-reel recorders, dark-room processing for photos and typewriters for composing contents. But now computers have facilitated in Instant Broadcast, Online Newspapers, Online News Channels, etc.
Social Networking: Before the advent of computer, people used to interact with friends and relatives in closed groups and meet them during family functions, religious ceremonies and gatherings at local temples, gurudwaras, mosques or church. Computers & mobile devices have revolutionized the mode of interaction through social network. Banking: Computers have facilitate more authentic, secured, paperless and instant banking operation through CBS (Core Banking Solution).It also save our time and can store the payment record digitally. Computers have led to Online Payment, Net Banking, Cash Withdrawn and deposit.
Research: Research in any field was miniscule as there were not enough computerized tools available in the past. Researchers and scientists now make use of super computers and mainframe computers to compile and analyze vast amount of data at very high speed. It helps us in Satellite Launching & Communication, Robotics, Complex Research studies, Measure of scale of natural disasters, Weather forecasting and prediction, etc.
Defense: Computers are an important aspect of the defense industry. Computers analyze pictures taken from satellite for tracking enemy movements. Advanced computer technology facilitates: Design of Weapon, Coding-Decoding and transmission of confidential messages, Identification, Monitoring and Launching Missiles.
Criminal Identification & Law Enforcement: With the advent of computer, criminal record maintenance has become paperless. Computer helps us in this section like: Tracking, Digital Criminal Record, Analysis, DNA Test and Immigration Records.
Entertainment: In the past, entertainment for people meant watching puppet shows, circus and other live performance like religious and historical drama staged at the squares of villages and towns. Today, many aspects of the entertainment industry are dependent on computers like: ‘Easy Access to music, movie & game’, Animation movies, Digital recording, Broadcast web series, Computer Game.
Buisness: Business operation in the past were not as fast as today. Computers have cut  short the time and cost required for different business activities. With the use of computers nosiness houses can enhanced: - Tabulation of accounts, Business Communication, Integration of all departments with the help of ERP, HR management systems, Advertising & sales Promotion, Online Shopping.
Printing And Publication: Computers have transformed  the process and speed of printing  and publishing as they have led to: Instant Editing, Execution and monitoring of large scale printing, E-book and E-Newspapers, Variety of Promotional Materials.
Engineering & Manufacturing: Computers have led to designing and manufacturing in a much speedier pace. Manufacturing units used to deploy large number of manpower and mechanical tools. Engineers and Manufacturers now rely on computers for: CAM ( Computer Aided Manufacturing), Designing of heavy engineering products.
Sport: Sports and computers were never considered interrelated aspects. Gradually Computers started modernizing the sport industry as well computers help players, coaches, commentators, sport analyst, sport organizers & media in varied ways like: Identification of Training Needs, Recording of Matches, Statistical Analysis.
Medical Science: Computers have become an important part in hospitals, labs, and dispensaries. They are being used in hospitals to keep the record of patients and medicines. It is also used in scanning and diagnosing different diseases. ECG, EEG, ultrasounds and CT scans, etc. are also done by computerized machines.
Museum & Library: In the past, records if priceless items of museum and libraries were maintained in handwritten registers. It used to time taken to trace a record but now Computers have enhanced the way in which museum and libraries are accessed: Tracking Resource, Digital Historical Data, Book issue, book return, book reissue, Indexing, Online Access of Books, etc.
Railways & Aviation: Introduction of computer in railways and aviation industries facilitate: Online Reservations, Traffic Control, Computerized Railway guide, Autopilot, Flight Data Record, Tracking and Monitoring of Trains, etc.
