Characteristics of Computer

As Advantage:

  1. Automatic: - Computers are automatic machine because once started on a job, they carry out the job until is finished (without any human intervention).
  2. Speed: - A computer is a very fast device it can perform in few seconds, the amount of work that a human being can do in an entire year.
  3. Accuracy: - computers are very accurate. Accuracy of a computer is consistently high and the degree of its accuracy depends upon its design.
  4. Diligence: - A computer is free from monotony, tiredness and lake of concentration, unlike human Beings A computer will perform the last one with exactly the same accuracy and speed as the first one.
  5. Versatility: - Versatility is one of the most wonderful things about a computer. We can use computer to perform completely different types of work at the same time.
  6. Storage: - Computer can store mass storage of data with appropriate format.

As Disadvantage

  1. No. I.Q:- A computer is a machine that has no intelligence to perform any task. Each instruction has to be given to the computer. A computer cannot take any decision on its own.
  2. Dependency: - It functions as per the user’s instruction, thus it is fully dependent on humans.
  3. Environment: - The operating Environment of the computer should be dust free and suitable.
  4. No Feeling: - Computers have no feelings or emotions. It cannot make judgment based on feeling, taste, experience, and knowledge unlike humans.
  5. Non Heuristic: - Computer has only artificial intelligence. It cannot learn from the last mistake.
